Southampton City Art Gallery
The gathering Memories exhibition is now showing in  the Foyer of Southampton City Art Gallery. You can bid on any of the Artworks at the exhibition; bidding forms are available upstairs at the Art Gallery Information Desk.
     

The exhibition at Southampton City Art Gallery is open until 29 September 2018.
Opening times:
Monday – Friday 10am – 3pm
Saturday 10am – 5pm
Sunday – Closed

Alternatively if you are unable to get to the exhibition you can  bid here on the website. All Artworks are numbered and can be seen on the AUCTION GALLERY page. Bids can be made on the SILENT AUCTION BID page

Submission of artwork for the exhibition and auction is now closed.

A big thank you to all those of you who have participated in the project.
Bidding for artworks will be from 30 June to 30 September 2018 and each piece will have a minimum starting price of £20.00

Thank you to everyone who has participated in the project that was launched in the Spring of 2017.
We have had donations for over 800 kits and the project has reached Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

All of the kits have now gone and so this first phase of the project is now closed.

If you wish to submit your Memory piece for further fund raising in the Silent Auction, please do so by the 31st March 2018. There is no obligation to return your Memory Artwork but instead you may like to send us an image for the website.
The submitted Artworks will be exhibited and auctioned for further fund raising at:

The Willis Museum, Basingstoke, from 30th June – 4th August 2018
and
Southampton Art Gallery (Foyer), from 12th August – 30th September 2018

The Silent Auction will take place throughout the duration of these two exhibitions via written bids and/or via the website. Bidding will close on 30th September 2018 and the winning bidders will be notified by the end of October 2018.

The project has been very exciting and engaged many people. We hope that you will be able to see the Images at one of the Exhibition venues or on the website and we look forward to your bids.

05 January 2018 – No kits left
We have had donations for just over 800 Project Kits and have finally run out due to everyone’s overwhelming support for this project.
Consequently any request for kits is now closed. However we aim to honour the last few kit requests that have come through via the website.
The closing date for returning Your Memory Artwork if you want to is the 31st March this year. If you wish to keep your piece of work please send us an image for the website. We will have the two Exhibitions and Silent Auction this Year. More details to follow. Thank you all for participating and for your donations, all of which are going to the Altzheimer’s Society.

Elizabeth had a great response from the visitors at the  ICHF Stitch and Hobbycraft Show in Manchester last week. This, along with website enquiries, now means we only have around 50 Projects Kits left. So if you have already been advised on how to donate for your kit then don’t forget to get your payment in quickly, as these last kits will not last long ….. and as they say “when they’re gone they’re gone!”

Due to such a wonderful response the Gathering Memories Project Kits are now in limited supply, so if you haven’t already got yours and still want to be part of this memory project please apply as soon as possible. Elizabeth will be at  ICHF Stitch and Hobbycraft Show at Event City, Manchester from 06 – 09 September where she will be giving a talk and update on the project each day. Kits will be available there.  Thank you to everyone who has supported this project so far.

We had a tremendous response at the ICHF event in Birmingham this weekend receiving donations for well over a hundred Project Kits. A big thank you to all those who are now participating in this project and we look forward to seeing all your completed A5 Memory artworks. We’ve been really busy sending out Project Kits all over the UK as well as France, Holland and the USA. Finished artworks are starting to come in and can be seen on our Memory Gallery. If you still haven’t applied for your kit go to the contact page and send us an email, we look forward to hearing from you.

The Project Kits are going fast, and we have already received some beautiful Memory Artworks, which can be seen in the Memory Gallery and in the Artist’s Gallery.

Artworks that we receive back will go to auction next year and will be moved onto the auction page nearer the time.

Those of you who are keeping your memory artwork we would still love to see what you have made, so email us a clear image or send photo by post and we will put it up on the Memory Gallery page for you.
